Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. It is our policy to respect your privacy and to comply with any applicable law and regulation regarding personal information we collect about you, including across our website, https://internetmogul.com, our community at https://private.internetmogul.com, our newsletter The Dispatch, and other sites and services we own and operate.

Personal information is any information that can be used to identify you. This includes information about you as a person (such as your name and email address), your devices, and information about how you use a website or online service.

Where our sites link to third-party sites and services, those services have their own privacy policies. After following a link to third-party content you should read their policy. This policy does not apply to your activity after you leave our services.

Effective 1 September 2026. Last updated 1 September 2026.

Information We Collect

Information we collect falls into two categories: information you voluntarily provide, and information automatically collected by your device when you use our services.

Information you provide

We ask for personal information when you subscribe to our newsletter, register for our community, submit content to us, or contact us. This may include:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Social media profiles, where you choose to give them

  • Any content you send us

Log data

When you visit our website, our servers may automatically log standard data sent by your browser. This may include your device's IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and time spent on each page.

If you encounter an error, we may automatically collect technical data about that error and the circumstances around it.

This information may not identify you on its own, but it may be possible to combine it with other data to identify an individual.

Device data

We may automatically collect data about your device, such as device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers. What we receive depends on your device and software settings.

Newsletter signup records

When you subscribe to The Dispatch, we record your email address, the date and time you subscribed, and technical details of the submission. We keep this as evidence of consent — so that if a subscription is ever disputed, we can show when and how it was given. This record is created by our signup form provider (see Who We Share Information With).

Email tracking

Our newsletter contains standard email tracking:

  • Open tracking. Each email includes a small invisible image. When your email client loads it, we record that the message was opened.

  • Click tracking. Links in our emails are routed through our own system so that we can record which links were clicked before you are forwarded to the destination.

We currently record this data in aggregate only — it is not attributed to individual subscribers. We can see that a campaign received a number of opens and clicks; we do not build a per-person profile of what you opened or clicked. If we ever change this, we will update this policy before doing so.

You can prevent open tracking by configuring your email client not to load remote images. Click tracking can be avoided by not clicking links in our emails.

Website analytics and cookies

Our website and community use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand in aggregate how pages are used — which pages are visited, for how long, and roughly where visitors came from. These services set cookies in your browser and receive your IP address.

Our community platform additionally loads its own analytics, support-chat and security services on the same pages. These are listed in Who We Share Information With.

You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings, or decline non-essential cookies where we offer that choice. Blocking them does not prevent you from using our services.

User-generated content

We treat "user-generated content" as material (text, image or video) you voluntarily supply for publication on our website, community, or social channels. All such content is associated with the account or email address used to submit it.

Content you submit for publication will be public after posting. Once published it may be accessible to third parties not covered by this policy.

We will do our best to protect the information you give us, but no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure and nobody can guarantee absolute data security.

Children's Privacy

We do not aim any of our products or services at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights and Controlling Your Personal Information

Your choice. You do not have to give us personal information. If you do not, it may affect your use of our services.

Access. You may request details of the personal information we hold about you.

Correction. If you believe anything we hold about you is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to correct it.

Deletion. You may ask us to delete the personal information we hold about you. We will do so unless we are required to keep it — for example, your email address on our suppression list, which exists to protect you from further email.

Opting out of communications. You may opt out at any time:

  • Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter we send you. This works immediately and requires nothing else from you.

  • Or email us at the address below and we will remove you.

Even after you opt out of marketing, we may still contact you for non-promotional reasons, such as responding to an enquiry you raised.

Information from third parties. If we receive personal information about you from a third party, we protect it as set out in this policy. If you provide us personal information about someone else, you confirm you have their consent to do so.

Non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights over your personal information.

Do not sell or share. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is nothing for you to opt out of in this respect.

Data breaches. We will comply with the laws applicable to us in respect of any data breach.

Complaints. If you believe we have breached a data protection law, contact us with full details and we will investigate and respond in writing. You also have the right to contact a regulatory body or data protection authority.

Business Transfers

If we or our assets are acquired, or if we go out of business or enter bankruptcy, personal information may be among the assets transferred. Any party acquiring us may continue to use your personal information as set out in this policy, which they will be required to assume.

Limits of This Policy

Our website and community may link to external sites we do not operate. We have no control over their content or policies and cannot accept responsibility for their privacy practices.

Changes to This Policy

We may change this policy to reflect changes to our business, current practice, or law. We will post changes at this same link.

If the changes are significant, or if the law requires it, we will contact registered users with the new details. Where the law requires it, we will ask your permission or give you the opportunity to opt in or out of any new use of your personal information.
